Situated close to the River Otra, this hotel is only a one-hour drive from Kristiansand and is the oldest hotel in the Setesdal Valley.
Hotel Dølen is a natural pit stop for those travelling from eastern to western Norway. The hotel has a charming atmosphere and the hotel terrace offers a beautiful view over the river.
The Evje area is well known for its high amounts of minerals and in the area you will find Setesdal Mineral Park as well as mineral mines. Other activities such as go-karting, river rafting and elk safaris are also available.

Hotel information
The original hotel is from 1885 it burned down in 1919 and was then rebuilt. This hotel from 1921 is an historical building.
Among the visiting celebrities is former Norwegian prime minister Einar Gerhardsen and during the war, the building was used by German officers. There's a lot of history and stories in these walls.
When bathrooms where installed in the late 70's, this resulted in smaller, yet cosier rooms.
Food & beverage
In the restaurant, The Library, traditional Norwegian dinner is served every week day.
You can also choose from our great selection of à la carte dishes.
We can also offer Norwegian and local specialities such as dwarf salmon, reindeer and Arctic mountain trout.
Every Sunday we serve a dinner buffet.
Room information
Most of the rooms are located on the 1st floor.
Rooms 10, 11, and 12 are on the 2nd floor. 2 of the rooms, plus the suite, have ample space for extra beds.
All rooms have LCD-TV and most have DVD players.
Area information
Nearby activities include Troll Activ that includes rafting,climbing and safaries or visit Setesdal Mineral Park.
