Opening/Closing times: 16:00 - 23:30. Only 1 km from the airport terminal, Stansted Guest House offers free airport transfers from 06:00 - 10:00 and 16:00 - 23:00.

Only 3 minutes from the terminal, most rooms include free transfers (excluding Thursday), and 2 days’ free parking. See "Important Information" below for exclusions as this must be booked in advance to guarantee a space.

Located between the village of Takeley and Stansted Airport, this is the closest off-site accommodation. Set in 3 acres of mature gardens and surrounded by countryside, Stansted Guest House is ideal for an overnight stay.

Stansted Guest House is set in 3 acres of mature gardens and surrounded by open countryside, yet only 3 minutes by car, or 15 minutes by foot, from the Stansted's main terminal, making it ideal if using the airport for business or pleasure.

Despite being so close to Stansted Airport, Stansted Guest House is not under the flight path, ensuring a peaceful night’s sleep, in our well appointed en-suite rooms.

Food & beverage

The guest house offers a self-service breakfast, which is available from 03:00. This includes white toast with a selection of jams and marmalade, cereal, orange juice, tea and coffee.

Stansted Guest House does not offer evening meals, but there is a pub that serves food, either a 15-minute walk (country road, not lit) or a cheap taxi ride away. The pub offers traditional pub food until 21:00 (limited menus on Sundays and Public Holidays).

Stansted Airport has a number of places to eat, if you prefer to eat before you reach the guest house.

All rooms are en suite and offer free in-room beverages. Ground floor rooms can be requested in advance.

For rooms including 1 evening and 1 morning transfer:
Available between 16:00 and 23:00, and 06:00 and 10:00 (every hour, on the hour, except on Thursdays). Outside of this period, taxis are available (at an additional cost).

If your room does not include transfers, they can be booked for GBP 4 (per room, per journey). Subject to availability (pre-booking is advised). Available as above, except not before 08:00.

Transfers are only available only in the morning on the 24 and 31 December. No transfers are available on the 25 and 26 December, or 01 January.

Area information

A local village pub/restaurant is only a 15-minute walk (country road not lit), or a short taxi ride, away. The pub offers various food until 21:00.

After 21:00 they may have a limited menu available, but they cannot guarantee to have food available, so it might be better to eat at the airport first, before you come down to us.

The airport railway station and coach terminal provide direct links to central London and the rest of the UK. For timetables and costs, please visit the website for Stansted Airport.

London Liverpool Street station is only 45 minutes away via the Stansted Express train or alternatively, the historic city of Cambridge can be reached in just 30 minutes.

Please collect your luggage first, then ring the guest house to book yourself onto the next available transfer. You must ring at the latest 10 minutes before the next transfer.

Parking Information:
To reserve a parking space, Stansted Guest House requires the following information in advance, direct to them via email:

- Estimated time of arrival at the guest house.
- Estimated time of departure.
- Return day, if parking is required.

This is to guarantee your 2 days' free parking from the morning of check-out. Please note that this is not available during the week before or after Easter weekend. It is also not available between 01 July and 31 July and on all public holiday weekends. Parking within these dates (or before your stay) is at an additional cost. The guest house is unable to offer free transfers between 06:00 and 09:00 when returning to collect your car.

Opening Times:
Please note that this is not a 24-hour guest house. The guest house opens at 16:00 and closes at 23:30. Access cannot be gained outside of these times.

Payment Information:
Credit card details are taken for security purposes only. You need to pay the guest house on arrival. The guest house is not able to take Diners Club, Maestro, Switch or debit cards as security.

In cases where a credit card has been provided for security, payment of outstanding balances can be made on arrival by cash (GBP or EUR) or credit/debit card. Please note that all payments via credit/debit card are subject to a GBP 5 handling fee, charged by the guest house.

If a debit card is provided as security then the guest house will bill the card with the total cost of the stay (plus handling fee) immediately upon booking.

If you want to charge the total cost to the card provided for security, the guest house is only able to do so if they are notified by email before your arrival.

Please note that the guest house reserve the right to charge an initial deposit of 25% of the total booking cost. This is non-refundable if cancelled, if you wish to pay in either Sterling or Euros, this will be refunded back to your card, to avoid the handling charge.

Other Policies:
The guest house is strictly non-smoking. Fees are charged to those guests who do not follow this policy.

Please note that the guest house is unable to accept children under 8 years of age.
