Schützenbach is a small family run Backpacker & Camping since 1960. We offer budget accommodation to suit 'all pockets'. We like our guests to feel comfortable and relaxed. With our team of friendly and helpful English speaking staff, you can be assured of personal service, warm family hospitality and a great time.

We are open all year round so if you would like to hike or ski/board there is always a comfortable bed ready for a sleepy head.

Food & beverage

Well there are bars and lounges.. or for a truly great experience there's The Stump where we are up for most things and the night time drinking hours are... we will say very flexible!

In the evening we turn the Stump into a traditional Swiss Fondue meeting point, where people from all ends of the world get together to dip some bread!

If you are travelling on a low budget or with your always-hungry children and prefer to cook your own meals we also have a fully-equipped kitchen for all our guests.

Room information

The chalet has an amazing view over the Valley. It sleeps up to 6 people, one double room, two rooms with bunk beds, private bath living/dining area and balcony, ideal for a group of friends or family
Twin rooms have a beautiful view across the valley, with bedding, washbasin and shared shower/restroom down the hall
There are also quad rooms, with two bunk-beds, and our dormitory accommodation sleep up to 30 people.

Travel information

By train:
Take a train to Lauterbrunnen, just opposite the station is the local yellow PTT bus. Tell the driver Schützenbach and he will stop outside the hotel.

By car:
- Follow signs to Interlaken then Lauterbrunnen.
- Drive through the village towards Stechelberg, past the church on your right.
- Continue about 400 metres you will see our sign on your left.

Important information

Please note that as a backpackers hostel mostly young people (18 - 40) stay here who tend to party a lot. There is an age limit of 18 to 45 applicable.
