Located on the sunny side of the Grindelwald Valley, this simple but contemporary hotel boasts a beautiful view of the impressive mountain scenery with the Eiger North Wall.

A biking, paragliding and winter-sport friendly hotel, the Hotel Lauberhorn offers refreshing hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to this, they can offer special guided bike tours through the wonderful surroundings.

Conny and Beni, the hotel owners are both passionate mountain bikers and carvers, they look forward to telling you much more about where to go and what to see in Grindelwald and its surroundings.

Just in front of the hotel there is a ski-bus stop which can be used free of charge during the winter season.

Hotel information

Conny and Beni Kaufmann took over the Hotel Lauberhorn from the Howald family in May 2005. Since then, the traditional chalet-style hotel is under constant remodelling, following a colourful and fun-oriented lifestyle concept.

Located in a large chalet on an alp overlooking Grindelwald, it has spectacular views to the Eiger mountain range and is an ideal base for walking, biking and skiing, as paths and slopes literally pass the hotel. We have a bright breakfast room, chill-out room with a breathtaking view, bar, a media centre (TV, free internet corner and WLAN throughout the whole house), a in-house Finnish sauna and ample car parking.

Just in front of the Hotel Lauberhorn there is the bus stop from which you can get to the First station in 3 minutes or to the train station for Kl. Scheidegg in 5 minutes. (Ski bus in winter is free of charge.) During the high season in winter the night bus runs until 23:00.

Food & beverage

During winter season, every Saturday the restaurant cooks a homemade cheese fondue with boiled potatoes and bread as well as a salad starter (for additional charge).

During summer season the hotel organises a BBQ in the garden once a week, dependant on the weather.

Half board is optional and is served at Hotel Eiger daily from 18:00 - 20:15 (3-course set menu for additional charge). Bookable from 3 days on.

In the bar you can enjoy daily homemade soup and other snacks.

Breakfast buffet is served from 07:30 - 09:30.

Room information

Extra beds can only be placed in the regular double rooms and the chic double rooms (not possible in the cheap rooms).

Area information

The hotel is located on the sunny side of the Grindelwald valley in complete tranquillity, about 15 minutes walk downhill to the village (train station Bäreplatz) or 5 minutes by bus which stops right outside the hotel (ski bus during winter season is free of charge).

You will have a spectacular view of the Eiger mountain range and it is ideal for walking, biking and skiing as the path literally passes the hotel.

We have a big car park in front of the hotel (free of charge for hotel guests) and in summer you are very welcome to relax in our nice garden with sun chairs or have a drink at our wooden table.

Travel information

By Train:
We will pick you up at the Train Station Grindelwald. Just let us know your arrival time (not possible from 12:00 to 16:00).

By Car:
From Bern:
- Start on the motorway in the direction of Thun/Interlaken.
- Get off at motorway exit signposted Interlaken/Grindelwald.
- Take the mountain road signposted Grindelwald.
- On arrival in Grindelwald continue up through the village on the main street.
- Spot the church on the right side of the street and you're doing okay.
- Continue left for 500 metres and the Hotel Lauberhorn is on the left-hand side.

Important information

Dogs are not allowed in the "chic" rooms, but only in the "cheap" and in the regular rooms (at an additional cost).

Dogs must not be left unattended in the hotel.

Please note that in summertime a reduced rate is applicable for extra beds.
